2008 Benefit Dinner & Live Auction

The American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) hosted its annual Benefit Dinner & Live Auction at The Racquet & Tennis Club on Monday, November 17, 2008 under the leadership of the event's Chair, Dottor Marco Tronchetti Provera, Chairman, Pirelli & C., S.p.A. 

Ronald Levy, MD and Lee M. Nadler, MD received The Alexander Bodini Foundation Prize for Scientific Excellence in Medicine for outstanding research that led to the successful development of monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of lymphomas.   Emmy Award-winning journalist and interviewer Charlie Rose was presented with the Alessandro di Montezemolo Lifetime Achievement Award.  Vincent T. DeVita, Jr., MD, received the Cancer Service Award for his six years of dedicated service as chairman of AICF's Scientific Advisory Board.

Robert Bazell, Chief Science Correspondent, NBC News, and Charles Gasparino, On-Air Editor, CNBC, served as co-Masters of Ceremonies.

2007 Benefit Dinner & Auction

AICF welcomed an enthusiastic crowd to the Benefit Dinner & Auction at The Pierre Hotel on Monday, November 19, 2007.  The celebration recognized the accomplishments of The Alexander Bodini Foundation Prize for Scientific Excellence in Medicine winners John Mendelsohn, MD, President of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and José Baselga, MD, Chair & Professor of Medicine at the Hospital General Universitari Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona for work that led to the development and approval of two treatments with widespread applications in both colon and breast cancer.

Joe Torre, Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and former Manager of the New York Yankees, received the Alessandro di Montezemolo Lifetime Achievement Award.
